What an amazing vacation it has been!
I landed in Nice on Monday around 3pm and waited there for 2 hours until Mikes plane from London landed. We then took the airport bus in to town and went grocery shopping. We where staying in an apartment hotel so we had a full kitchen and decided too just buy breakfast and make it ourselves for the whole week.
Once we got to the hotel which was rather tricky to find we where a little disappointed with the apartment just cause it was so much smaller than what the website made it out to be. But I think it had more to do with how warm and tired we where cause looking back at it now it wasn't too bad haha!
We stayed in the little town Villefranche Sur Mer, just a bit out of Nice. A very quite and picturesque little place, with mainly local people and day visitors, but we figured it is probably a lot busier during high season. Most of the days we spent in Villefranche, but we also did some exploring, first by foot too the towns "next door" Beaulieu Sur Mer, and Saint Jean Cap Ferrat. Both places where more "jetset" and glamour than what we first expected, with fancy shops and big yachts laying around! But again since it was low season it still felt very inviting and not over done. Plus there was a lot of restaurant options by the harbor and that was unexpected and fun!
Then on Friday and Saturday we took the train in to Nice. (Super easy and cheap, highly recommend!) On Friday it was because we wanted a change of scenery and to try new restaurants. And on Saturday it was a little cloudy so we did some sightseeing and shopping. We then stayed in Nice for the whole Saturday evening and ended up going to three different bars, it was a great and fun night!
We also took a day trip to Monaco which I'll make a separate post about!
